Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for the financial management and reporting of the High Country Minor Hockey Association (HCMHA). Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all monies received and disbursed.

  • Reporting: Present an annual financial report at the AGM, including a duly audited statement of the Association’s operations.

  • Budgeting: Prepare the annual budget for the Association.

  • Signing Authority: Serve as one of three authorized signing officers for the Association.

  • Banking: Manage funds by placing money in savings accounts and transferring to chequing accounts as required; reconcile monthly bank statements.

  • Accounting Support: Work with the accountant as needed to ensure accurate financial management.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Complete and submit the Society Annual Return and liaise with the Alberta Gaming Commission (AGLC), including annual financial submissions and license financials as required.

  • Meeting Attendance: Attend monthly HCMHA board meetings.

  • Casino Coordination: Organize and coordinate fundraising casino events for the Association.

  • Term of Office: Serves a 2-year term, with the position becoming available in even-numbered years.
