Registrar
The Registrar manages player, coach, and team official registration and ensures compliance with Hockey Alberta (HA) and the Central Alberta Hockey League (CAHL). Key responsibilities include:
Pre-Season Support: Assist with all pre-season registration activities.
Accurate Record-Keeping: Maintain precise records of all registrants, registration activities, and associated payments; keep both hard copy and/or electronic filing systems.
Hockey Alberta & CAHL Liaison: Communicate with HA and CAHL regarding player movement, affiliation, and registration of all hockey participants.
Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) Management: Perform all registration work through the HCR system in accordance with HA and CAHL regulations.
Monthly Responsibilities:
April: Attend Spring Zone meeting.
May: Roll over the season in HCR, update and set online registration, generate reports for potential members/teams.
June: Track incoming registrations, coordinate payments with Treasurer, assist with Elite form requests.
July: Continue tracking and processing incoming registrations and numbers.
August: Pre-register players in HCR, request transfers, run coach qualification report, and work with the Coach Director to ensure all coaches have proper qualifications.
September: Attend Zone 5 meeting, run numbers for teams, order teams from HA, register players, and order CAHL teams.
October: Register players on teams, submit CAHL rosters and jersey numbers, finalize team orders and HA registrations.
November: Finalize player and coach qualifications before Nov 15 deadline, manage affiliate registrations with the President, submit team approvals to HA, and assist with Provincial declarations.
December: Complete Provincial declarations, obtain affiliation approvals, and finalize approved rosters and teams.
January: Participate in Provincial conference call (optional).
February/March: Process requests for tax receipts.
Team Formation Support: Assist with team creation and roster finalization based on registration data.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all registration, affiliation, and movement processes meet HA and CAHL regulations; provide reports to the HCMHA Executive as required.
Term of Office: Serves a 2-year term, with the position becoming available in odd-numbered years.
