President

The President serves as the chief officer and primary representative of the High Country Minor Hockey Association (HCMHA). Their responsibilities include:

  • Signing Authority: Act as one of three authorized signing officers for the Association.

  • Meeting Leadership: Preside over all Association meetings and ensure proper governance.

  • Executive Authority: Exercise the powers of the Executive in emergency situations and remain accountable to the Executive for all actions taken.

  • Representation: Represent HCMHA at all Hockey Alberta meetings and functions.

  • Committee Oversight: Appoint committees at duly constituted meetings to address specific issues, report findings, and provide recommendations. Committees are disbanded once their purpose is fulfilled.

  • Affiliations: Approve organizational affiliations.

  • Member Relations: Listen to Association members respectfully and without judgment.

  • Elite Hockey Management: Address and oversee Elite hockey matters.

  • Inter-Association Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with other Minor Hockey Associations (MHAs).

  • Policy Development: Assist in the creation and refinement of Association policies and procedures.

  • Conference Participation: Attend Spring and Fall Zone meetings and participate in Winter Provincial conference calls.

  • Term of Office: Serves a 2-year term, with the position becoming available in odd-numbered years.
